Nana is a presenter at GB News. She formerly presented Tonight Live on GB News. She claimed that GB News was “striking a chord” with the British public when speaking to Sky News Australia. On 19 July 2021, it was announced she would move to a new program on Saturday and Sunday afternoons titled Nana Akua while continuing as a host of The Great British Breakfast. Her show has since been extended to every Friday afternoon as well.
Her radio career started by accident. Nana had wanted to be a trader like her father, but a former partner suggested television and radio, so she applied for a job at Kiss 100 as a graduate trainee sponsorship assistant.
Nana then moved to Capital Radio to set up Capital Interactive. One day, she switched off her computer and saw her reflection on the screen and she knew she had to pursue her dream of presenting. She quit her job at Capital and managed to negotiate a trainee position as a DJ at The Capital Radio Café. From there Nana got her own Drivetime Show on Fusion 107.3.
Her first break into TV was Bid and Price Drop, hosting live auctions five days a week, which was for four hours of live TV a day. The experience was invaluable, and she combined that role with Sky Vegas, presenting live gameshows, collectively accumulating more than 10,000 hours of live presentation. She moved on to presenting the prime-time Holiday Show on BBC One, alongside the Money Show pilot for BBC Three.
Previously, Nana has been working at the BBC, presenting national, regional, and local radio. She was also a panelist on the Jeremy Vine show on Channel 5 and a regular on ITV’s Good Morning Britain. Outside of work, her huge passion is fitness. Nana created LadyXsize, a fitness guru and brand that has helped keep her on track.
