Landale is the BBC’s diplomatic correspondent since 2016. Before that, he was chief political correspondent for the BBC News Channel until 2009 when he became Deputy Political Editor, assisting then Political Editor Nick Robinson. During his time as a political correspondent he presented some relief shifts on the channel such as The Andrew Marr Show, Daily Politics and The World This Weekend.
He joined the BBC in 2003 after spending a decade at The Times newspaper, primarily as a political correspondent in the Westminster lobby. He also worked as the paper’s Brussels correspondent and assistant foreign news editor.
In 2015, Landale was named Broadcaster of the Year by the Political Studies Association for his “huge contribution to the public understanding of politics”.
