Since joining HLN, she has covered several breaking news stories both in the field and at the helm of the anchor desk. They include; the devastating flooding in Atlanta, the death of former President Ronald Reagan, the capture of Saddam Hussein and Hurricane Katrina. She also interviewed several high profile news makers, including: Senator John McCain and Walter Cronkite.

Susan anchored an hour live special newscast regarding the disappearance of missing Aruba teen Natalee Holloway. She also reported live both on CNN and HLN from the Ron Clark Academy during President Barack Obama’s inauguration.

Hendricks started her journalism career at Comcast Cable in Los Angeles, California before moving to KESQ in Palm Springs where she was a field reporter. She covered several breaking stories in California such as the disappearance and murder of Samantha Runion. She was also in the courtroom at The Marine Corps. Air Ground Combat Center at Twenty-nine Palms during the high profile trail of the marines who refused to take the anthrax vaccine.

After two years in the field she joined the NBC affiliate KMIR where she anchored a two-hour morning show. During this time she covered major breaking news stories including the Santana High School shooting. She anchored the weekend’s newscast at HLN before joining the four hour live newscast HLN News Now in August of 2010.
