Ivory realized the need for independent journalism while witnessing the corruption inside her own company FOX Corp over the course of 2020 and 2021. While working as a reporter and fill-in anchor, she watched the corporation repeatedly put its special interests ahead of the viewers’ interests and the truth. She called out the corruption live on air on June 14, 2021. The video went viral around the globe. People reached out from countless parts of the world, expressing their own concerns about propaganda in the media. Thousands donated to Ivory, giving her the opportunity to launch her own company.
Prior to all this, Ivory spent nearly four years as a full-time hard news reporter and fill-in anchor at the Murdoch-owned FOX local station in Houston—FOX 26. Ivory covered some of the biggest stories, from presidential visits by Biden, Trump, Obama, Bush, Clinton, and Carter, to the death and funeral of President George H.W. Bush in his hometown. She also covered the massive march and funeral of George Floyd, two World Series involving the Astros, the Hurricane Harvey recovery, the Santa Fe mass shooting, and chemical fires and explosions in the oil and gas industry, with appearances on local and national news.
Prior to FOX 26, Ivory was a reporter and fill-in anchor for the NBC affiliate in Minneapolis for two years. She was a reporter for the NBC affiliate in Lexington, Kentucky for two years prior to that. Ivory’s first full-time TV job was as a reporter for the FOX affiliate in Columbia, South Carolina.
She got her start as a reporter at CitrusTV at Syracuse. Ivory was chosen for the New York State Broadcasters Association paid internship at WBNG-TV in Binghamton, NY. While still in college, Ivory spent a summer reporting for KBJR-TV in Duluth, MN. She also interned at KABC-TV in Los Angeles and at YNN Syracuse.

In June 2021, Hecker, then a Fox 26 Houston general assignment reporter was fired after interrupting a live on-air report to accuse her employers of “muzzling” her. In an interview with The Daily Beast, Hecker claimed she’d been terminated via text message and declared that she would never work in corporate media again—not even for Fox News, where she claimed: “They wanted to bring me up.”
Hecker went viral when she began a live report about the weather by revealing that she provided secret recordings to Project Veritas, the right-wing activist group founded by James O’Keefe, supposedly proving corruption and censorship at her station.
“Before we get to that story, I want to let you, the viewers, know that Fox Corp. has been muzzling me to keep certain information from you, the viewers,” Hecker said during the on-air report. “And from what I’m gathering, I am not the only reporter being subjected to this.”
“I am going to be releasing some recordings about what goes on behind the scenes at Fox because it applies to you, the viewers,” she declared. “I found a non-profit journalism group called Project Veritas that is going to help put that out tomorrow, so tune in then.” Hecker then pivoted to her report, which featured her standing in front of a man repairing an air-conditioning unit.
Hecker was initially suspended by the station. When The Daily Beast reached her by phone, Hecker said she’d just landed in New York before a male voice in the background asked her who she was speaking with. After she mentioned a Daily Beast reporter was on the phone, the unidentified person told her to “get off the phone now.” Moments later, Hecker called back and confirmed that she had just been terminated by Fox 26 within the past hour.
