Cheryl is an NBC Bay Area reporter, who reports on the station’s 11 p.m. newscast. She has been with the station for 20 years.

“Reporting is a lot of fun, but it is definitely challenging,” she said. “I started out in the late 70s, believe it or not. Back then we had two-person crews and film! Now your cameraperson shoots, edits, runs the live truck, and sometimes reports the news. I write for television, and the web and am very active on social media. I don’t work the camera, but that may be coming soon.”

She has been honored with an award from the Bay Area Black Journalist Association and four Emmy awards presented by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences San Francisco.
