In 2015 Heath created the Brussels Playbook column for POLITICO, which led to the publication being rated the most read and influential EU news media ahead of the FT, BBC, and The Economist. He later created the annual Davos Playbook, and the EU Confidential podcast.
Heath has over 20 years of experience in live events and as on-air talent for network television and radio, including as a contributor on BBC, CNN, ABC, and Die Welt and Monocle, and co-moderating the first 2019 EU Presidential debate. He has also hosted events for organizations ranging from NATO to the Atlantic Council and the Alliance of Democracies. Additionally, he has interviewed 25 presidents and prime ministers. Recent interviews include Emmanuel Macron, Jacinda Ardern, Margrethe Vestager, Bill Gates, Kristalina Georgieva, John Kerry, Tony Blair, Iván Duque, and Ai Weiwei.
He began writing for national newspapers in his native Australia in 1999. After working as a speechwriter for the British civil service for seven years, he joined the European Commission spokespersons’ service in 2011 working for President José Manuel Barroso and Vice President Neelie Kroes.
