Snoochie Shy Parents
Snoochie is the daughter of Kirsty Davide. Her mother is a London-based choreographer and dancer. On her LinkedIn page she has written; “worked in the entertainment industry for 33 years as a professional dancer on TV, travelling the world, and then going on to then becoming a professional choreographer.”
Currently, Kirsty works as an events manager at Dalston Roof Park in London.
Speaking about her concerns on entering the series, Snoochie said: “My mum keeps laughing, as she knows I am such a scaredy cat!”

Snoochie Shy Big Shaq/Husband
In 2018, Snoochie starred in parody rapper Big Shaq’s music video Man Don’t Dance. In the video, she married Big Shaq whose real name is Michael Dapaah and they have since referred to each-other as husband and wife, although they aren’t married in real life.
Michael is a 30-year-old British actor, rapper and comedian. He was born in 1991 in Croydon, south London, to first-generation Ghanaian immigrants. While growing up, his parents wanted him to study science in order to become a doctor, however, he never had a true interest in the subject. He followed his passion into studying film, acting and theatre at Brunel University and took a course from the National Youth Theatre.
Dapaah began his career by gaining a social following among the British-African community for his brief comedic parts in shows like Meet the Adebanjos. In 2017 he launched a mockumentary series on YouTube titled SWIL (Somewhere in London) with two friends. The first series did so well as he got over 1 million views. In this series he created the characters MC Quakez and Big Shaq. In 2020, Michael Dapaah started making the move to a fitness show called “Belly Must Go”
Snoochie Shy I’m a Celebrity
Shy is one of the stars in 2021’s series of I’m a Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here! The show kicked off on Sunday (November 21, 2021) at 9pm on ITV. It will continue every day at the same time.
Snoochie is a BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ and she is on the airwaves from 11pm to 1am, Mondays to Thursdays. She began her 1Xtra late night slot in 2019. She had also joined the 1Xtra residency the year before.
Her career began at the age of 18 when she started blogging. She also landed a modelling job for the likes of Nike, Adidas, Reebok and Doc Martens. In 2015, Shy joined London’s Radar Radio station, hosting the breakfast show. She went on to become one of the faces of MTV UK, interviewing music stars and hosting live festival coverage. Additionally, she co-presents YO! MTV Raps and its sister show YO! MTV Rates. She is also an international DJ, having travelled the globe to perform for clients including River Island, G Star and Afropunk festival.
Speaking about her concerns on entering the series, she said: “My mum keeps laughing, as she knows I am such a scaredy cat!”
“Bugs and I are not friends, I don’t like heights and I am claustrophobic,” she added.
“They are all crazy,” she said, stating that the trial she is most dreading is “anything involving a coffin and creepy crawlies”.
Shy also said she is nervous about not wearing makeup on the series, meaning that the birthmark on her cheek will be visible in public for the first time.
“It has been an insecurity of mine in the past but I am also excited to face up to it,” she said.
When asked what her role in the camp might be, she said: “I love twerking on a Friday night and I’m going to teach everyone how to do it in the Castle.”

Snoochie Shy Gogglebox
Shy appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox along with celebrity pal Jeremy Vine after the two formed an unlikely friendship. Jeremy Vine is best known as BBC Radio 2 lunchtime host and the host of Channel 5’s Eggheads. He also hosts his own daily current affairs programme which featured BirminghamLive editor Graeme Brown last month.
Celebrity Gogglebox is Channel 4’s TV show. It’s first series kicked off in 2019 after the original Gogglebox show had been running for six years.
