Alongside her reporting responsibility, she also hosts the Thursday’s Child, a monthly program dedicated to helping foster children in the metro area find their families through adoption. Since the comeback of the program in 2019, the series has helped around 10 children find their families. In 2020, Sherae received a Mid-America Emmy Award in community service for the program.

Additionally, her other roles included maintaining and engaging in social media with viewers through social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The journalist also interacted with a social following of 9k viewers, finding and pitching stories as well as anchoring weekday and weekend newscasts as assigned.
