At the center, she focused on the climatological patterns of aridity within the United States. The internship taught her additional public speaking, critical thinking, and python skills.
Raquel continued the research from her internship through LSAMP and as a faculty member from WKU throughout her junior year. As for the spring semester of 2020, she interned at a local station to explore the broadcasting aspect of meteorology.
