After graduation, Malik went to Knoxville, TN in September 2020. He made a leap to a state and a city he had never been to. Hired as a General Assignment reporter at WBIR, Malik had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented journalists in this field and for a station that is Straight from the Heart, a station with a unique connection with the community that no other station in that market has. He also continued his work on the diversity and inclusion board there ensuring all voices are heard and appreciated.
Malik enjoys telling the stories about the community and how it is helping itself through good times or bad times, stories that will help effect change not just for the here and now but for generations to come. He also loves sharing stories that show off how our diversity makes us better and how when we work together there really isn’t anything we can’t do.
