Her work has created an impact. In 2020, she traveled around the country sharing the stories of young Latino voters for her series “The Youngest Bloc” on NBCLX. In Connecticut, her investigative reporting also revealed high levels of toxic chemicals in low-income school buildings and was nominated for an Emmy. Additionally, her work with Dateline NBC led police to reopen a case after wrongfully convicting a single mother of murder.
At NBC News Now, she’s tackled stories about TikTok musicals, immigrant workers’ rights, and the pandemic’s impact on communities of color. Before that, Gutierrez was a reporter for NBC Connecticut.
Prior to joining NBC Connecticut, she was an Associate Producer at Dateline NBC and an NBC News Associate. She worked on many major projects for the network, including the one-hour NBC News special on the 2014 hunt for a drug kingpin, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.
