Erives attended Southridge Middle School and Fontana High School. She loved being involved and was class president for her sophomore, junior and senior year of high school.
She also had an incredibly unique speaking voice and while she helped with the Fohi Senior Breakfast, during her junior year, she was approached by a videographer to be on a TV show called “Campus Daze.” This man told Evelyn to have her father contact him and once he did, it was a done deal.
Evelyn became the co-host of this show as they highlighted positive things going on in the Inland Empire. She participated on the “Campus Daze” show for about one year and received scholarship money. She used the scholarship money towards her certificate from the Academy of Radio and Television Broadcasting in Huntington Beach, CA.
However, growing up Evelyn had a dream of pursuing something else.
“Truly, I thought that I would become a marine biologist or some sort of veterinary technician up until I was struck by the broadcasting bug. I even worked in an animal hospital while going to school to make sure I was making the right decision. Working with animals was great, but not for me,” Evelyn said.

Erives grew up in Fontana. During her 40th birthday her parents came to town to celebrate with her.
“Today was the day! It was my actual birthday and I am so blessed. The well wishes, sweet texts, phone calls, flowers, FaceTime’s and Welding Machine were the best! I love you all! Yes! @chris_donovan got me a welding machine for my birthday! A huge thank you to my parents for coming into town early to be with me on this day. You are my favorite people and I’m beyond lucky to have you. I am who I am because of you… and you know it,” she posted on social media.
Erives also has a younger brother, Leonard. He and his wife Julie wedded in October 2021.

Evelyn Erives Husband and Kids
Evelyn has been married to Chris Donovan since November 4, 2008. As at 2021, the couple have three children and their first daughter is called Juleen Erives.
Erives and her husband shared the title of “2012 Volunteers of the Year” for LLS. The same night she was honored with the National Media Award for Excellence in Radio Broadcasting.

Erives is an on-air personality. She is the weekend host at KOST 103.5 in Los Angeles. She is also the morning show co-host for “ODM & Evelyn in the Morning” at 99.1 KGGI.
After finishing school, Evelyn got a job working for Radio Disney in which she was able to host concerts in Disneyland. Her next job was producing for Red Eye Radio KABC AM790 with Doug McIntyre. Much of what she learnt about radio and being a radio show host came from this opportunity.
Evelyn’s big break came in 2002 when she was offered a job at 99.1 KGGI producing the “Wedo Wake Up Show.” She was known as the “Latina voice of reason.” At the age of 21, she was the youngest on-air DJ. During that same year she was promoted to co-host of what became “Jeff and Evelyn in the Morning.”
Apart from her journalism career, Evelyn has a passion for volunteering. Her passion for volunteering in the community has inspired many of her fans to join her efforts. It has also earned her countless awards including Woman of the Year and the National Media Award for Excellence in Radio Broadcasting from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
