Now your cameraperson shoots, edits, runs the live truck, and sometimes reports the news. I write for television, and the web and am very active on social media. I don’t work the camera, but that may be coming soon.”

She has been honored with an award from the Bay Area Black Journalist Association and four Emmy awards presented by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences San Francisco.

Cheryl loves covering breaking news. She was the first to report about the BALCO steroid scandal that rocked the sports world. She often travels to breaking news all over the country and most recently she’s been covering devastating wildfires that have been sweeping California. And don’t forget the earthquakes.

She is one of the founding members of Friends of Faith, a non-profit organization that raises money for women diagnosed with breast cancer in the East Bay.
