He previously worked for the organization as the Europe Correspondent between 2015 and 2019 and also as the Asia Correspondent in 2012 as well as being the Middle East correspondent. He joined Sky News as a producer in 2005 and became a reporter two years later.

They broadcast live from a police van as it drove them away for questioning and later were released after several hours of interrogation. 4 months later the same year he traveled to North Korea as part of a select group of journalists granted access to the reclusive country. Together with his Sky News team produced the first-ever live international broadcasts from events at locations around the capital Pyongyang, allowing viewers a real-time glimpse inside North Korea.
Having been in the field of journalism for far too long and with so much experience, the stone is also recognized for his reporting on some of the coverage that hit the world’s news headlines such as; the extensive coverage of the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 in 2014, Europe’s migration crisis between 2015 and 2017, the November 2002 United States presidential election, where he attended the Four Seasons Total Landscaping press conference where he informed Rudy Giuliani that all of the American networks had called the race for Joe Biden.
In June 2021, Stone was criticized for a social media exchange in which he appeared to explain or excuse antisemitism in the United Kingdom; he subsequently apologized and stated that this was not his intention
