They started going to ballroom dancing lessons with their grandparents, Joe and Phyllis, and Tristan loved it. He entered competitions up to world championship level and started teaching when he was 16. He worked with his electrician dad after school, sold life insurance policies at the Bank of Ireland, and worked as a landscaper with his uncle.

Tristan MacManus Wife

Tristan is married to Tahyna Tozzi. When they first met in January 2011, Tahyna didn’t believe that Tristan was a ballroom dancer because he was Irish and had tattoos. They were with mutual friends at Galanga, a Thai restaurant in LA, and neither realised their friends were trying to set them up together. Mind you, there didn’t seem much point as Tristan was going on tour the next day and Tahyna was planning on leaving LA. When Tristan came back a month later, Tahyna held a Super Bowl barbecue at home, and as soon as Tristan walked in, she fell for him really hard.

Luckily, the admiration was reciprocated. “I was crazy about her,” says Tristan. “I phoned my mum and told her I had met the girl I was going to marry. She thought I was just drunk! Tahyna was very beautiful, but she was also different from any other girl I had come across in LA.”

The pair were married in January 2014 in a Catholic church in Sydney.

Tahyna has a sister named Cheyenne Tozzi and they are both famous in Australia and the US. Cheyenne is a model and Tahyna is a model-turned-actress who shot to fame as Perri in the Australian soap Blue Water High. Their mum, Yvonne Tozzi, is Dutch and was also a model, while their dad, Nicola Tozzi, is Italian and a windsurfing instructor. He and Yvonne are not together but are very close, and both love Tristan too.

Tristan MacManus Studio 10

MacManus is a professional dancer best known for his 5 seasons on Dancing with the Stars where he partnered with Nancy Grace, Gladys Knight, Pamela Anderson, Dorothy Hamill, and Valarie Harper. He also performed in 2 seasons of Strictly Come Dancing, the British version of the series.

MacManus began dancing in his hometown of Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland before moving on to compete around Europe, eventually winning numerous Juvenile, Junior, and Amateur competitions. After appearing in an uncredited dance role in the 2004 movie Ella Enchanted, he performed in theatre productions throughout Ireland, most notably in the Cork City Opera House and The Gaiety Theatre, including Bryan Flynn’s production of Oliver! and Aladdin, among others. Next, he joined the UK tour of Simply Ballroom and, after a successful tour in London and Las Vegas, went on to Australia and America where he toured as a featured dancer with Burn The Floor and Floor.

After numerous world tours and a year teaching Ballroom and Latin dancing in Boston, he returned to Europe to join the cast of Dirty Dancing as Dance Captain. He then went on to do a second stint in London’s West End. In 2017, he went on tour with Mrs Brown’s Boys for the Good Mourning Mrs Brown Live 2017 playing Elder Peach.

Following the conclusion of the 2020 season of Dancing with the Stars, MacManus was brought in as a new co-host for Network 10’s live morning program Studio 10 during a substantial restructure at the network which saw the likes of Joe Hildebrand, Kerri-Anne Kennerley, and Natarsha Belling depart and state-based Ten News First bulletins centralized to Sydney and Melbourne. Originally fronted by a panel of presenters, MacManus was chosen as one of just two co-hosts to anchor the revamped show alongside original presenter Sarah Harris.

The first edition of the re-formatted Studio 10 with MacManus as co-host went to air on 14 September 2020 which received a mixed reaction from viewers, critics, and former staff, and was criticized for its avoidance of discussions about news and topical issues in an attempt to keep the show light and free from controversy.

Recently, Network 10 axed the morning show, Studio 10, after a decade on air. In an announcement on Instagram, Studio 10 said the hosts – Angela Bishop, Narelda Jacobs, Tristan MacManus, and roving reporter Daniel Doody – would stay on with the station, along with the “majority” of the crew.

The chat show announced: “After ten years as a morning cornerstone in households around Australia, Studio 10 is sad to confirm that the show will not be returning in 2024. It’s been a long and wild ride producing 2,500+ episodes of a show that has brought us as much joy to make as we hope you have had to watch. The show has suffered dwindling ratings, budget cuts, and changes to its lineup for years.”

In July 2022, MacManus was a sideline reporter for 10 Football’s coverage of Leeds United’s pre-season tour of Australia.

Tristan MacManus Heart Attack

Fans and viewers first began questioning Tristan’s health when he was absent from the Studio 10 couch back in March 2023. Upon his return, the 40-year-old went on to explain that his absence from the show was due to a bad knee, muscle spasms in his chest, and three-disc bulges in his neck which had caused him considerable pain. The Dancing With The Stars turned Studio 10 star said that he had kept quiet about his suffering as he “didn’t know what was going on.”

“I had muscle spasms in my chest, which I thought was my heart. In my arm, I lost feeling for a couple of days… I almost had paralysis in my arm. I was running around Sydney seeing surgeons and specialists.”

When he returned to Studio 10 following a cortisone injection, the pain didn’t disappear. Tristan assured fans that he was on the mend in a heartfelt post shared on Instagram.

“Thanks for all the messages of concern but letting you know I’m all good, having lived the last few months in agony with nerve damage in my neck, chest, and back, trying to hide the shakes in my arms through @studio10au, @10footballau and then of course The Logies,” he wrote.

“It finally got too much and I had to go in for an operation on my neck and sort out and take out some rogue vertebrae.

“Out of hospital now, I still need a few days to recover but plan on being back to work midweek and in top form and pain-free will keep you updated on when over the next few days”.

That wasn’t Tristan’s first health issue in recent years, as in 2021, he revealed he’d suffered from two heart attacks before the age of 36.

“I woke up and I was on the ground,” Tristan told Sydney Confidential of his first heart attack which he experienced at just 26 years old while dancing in Las Vegas.

“To be honest, they didn’t tell me there was anything wrong with my heart so I didn’t think anything of it.”

The TV host’s grandfather had died of a heart attack at age 36, the same age at which he then suffered his second attack.

“I just started beating my chest, I could feel my heart in my head. I felt tingles down my arms.”

The second attack in 2019 led to the Irish dancer being diagnosed with myopericarditis, which is inflammation of the heart muscle and the pericardium. Since then, Tristan has been managing the disease by staying on top of his health.
