She began her journalism career after graduating from college and accepted her first job behind the scenes at WLOX in Biloxi, Miss. A short while later, she became an editor at WDSU in New Orleans, then made her way to her first on-air gig anchoring the morning show at WXVT in Greenville, Miss.
Six months later, WAPT called and Tammy moved to Jackson. Continuing to work her way up, Tammy has produced shows, reported on major stories, and anchored prime-time newscasts. She covered an array of stories in Mississippi from the Holmes County man who died and came back to life, to the hate crime trials of three Mississippi men who killed a black man in 2011. Not to mention, the numerous weather events, including multiple tornadoes, floods, and snowstorms.
