Kae Kurd is a British-Kurdish stand-up comedian. He is also a contestant on Season 18 of Celebrity MasterChef who will battle it out to be the champion of the show this summer.

Kae Kurd Parents
Kae is a Kurdish. Kurds are an ethnic and religious group, most of whom live in Greater Kurdistan, an international region comprising parts of Iraq, Iran, Turkey, and Syria.
He came to Britain at 6 months old as a refugee. His parents had been part of the Kurdish resistance movement against Saddam Hussein’s Iraqi government and were forced to flee as refugees.
“At my age, my father was running at tanks”, he told one interviewer.
As a result of the Anfal campaign against Kurds in Iraq, Kae’s parents fled to Iran, where he was born. Partly as a result of his father being injured in a poison gas attack in Iraq, his family was accepted as refugees and settled in Brixton, South London, where he still lives.

Kurd is among the 20 new Celebrity MasterChef contestants. The new season of Celebrity MasterChef kicks off on Wednesday 10th August at 8 pm on BBC One. Season 18 is expected to run for a month and a half, with three episodes airing on BBC One every week.

Kae has had two teeth that never grew from birth so it left him with two gaps in his teeth.
“Everyone’s always asking why I don’t smile in pics – cos I’ve had two teeth that never grew from birth so it left me with two gaps in my teeth looking like the prison bars in the cell they kept Harry Maguire in,” he says.
“Every time I’d upload a video I’d always get comments from someone about them, usually from profiles with no pictures as if I weren’t aware of the issue,” he adds.
