Josh is married to Rebecca Brogadir, a Principal at Ward Elementary School. The couple tied the knot in March 2005. They are blessed with two kids. They welcomed a daughter, Sophie Rachel, into the family in January 2009 and a son, Nathan Samuel, in March 2011.

Josh Brogadir WCVB-TV
Josh is a TV Sports Anchor and Reporter covering Boston’s teams for WCVB-TV Channel 5. He joined Duke Castiglione, Bob Halloran, and Naoko Funayama as a reporter on WCVB’s SportsCenter 5 team in May 2022. He previously served as a general assignment reporter for WCVB’s NewsCenter 5 team since August 2016.
Prior to joining WCVB, Josh worked in Boston as a sports anchor at Comcast SportsNet New England (CSNNE) and as a news reporter at New England Cable News (NECN).
Throughout his career, Josh has had the opportunity to report from the sidelines through the historic championship runs of Boston’s professional teams and documented the courage and perseverance of local student-athletes. In addition, Josh has covered many of the moments that have changed lives in New England, including the Boston Marathon bombings and manhunts through Cambridge and Watertown; the line-of-duty deaths of Weymouth Police Sgt. Michael Chesna and Worcester firefighter Christopher Roy; the capture of James ‘Whitey’ Bulger in Santa Monica, CA; the attack in Sandy Hook, CT; and the deadly tornado that carved a path through western and central Massachusetts.
Before returning to Boston, Josh was a reporter and anchor at WNEP-TV in Scranton, PA where he won an Associated Press award for investigative journalism; WHOI-TV in Peoria, IL; KREX- TV in Grand Junction, CO; and was a producer at KNSD-TV in San Diego, CA. Prior to that, he was a two-way bilingual (Spanish) teacher and football coach at Walsh Middle School in Framingham.
A native New Englander, Josh grew up in Woodbridge, CT. He volunteers and helps raise funds for the ALS Association and other important organizations.
Josh is also a voiceover artist and actor, with more than 50 films and TV/Web series, plays, audiobooks, and commercials to his credit. When not reporting for Channel 5, he can often be found running, biking, or hiking the trails of New England.

“Yes, the two that are top of mind are the two times I’ve been assaulted while reporting. Neither of which I got hurt, fortunately. The first was an angry and grieving relative who shoved me at the scene of a crash that claimed the life of his young nephew. The second was an inebriated college-age man who thought it would be fun to mention the unmentionable while I was doing a live report. He then tried to grab my microphone and I pushed him out of the way. A bit of a “party” ensued with some shouting, but all turned out ok in the end, ” he answered.
