Gaspard was a French actor. He was born in November 1984 in Paris and started acting while still at school. In 2004, he rose to prominence while playing Manech Langonnet in the Oscar-nominated film, A Very Long Engagement for which he won the César Award for Most Promising Actor. He also starred in the celebrity-filled anthology film Paris, Je t’aime in 2006 in a segment directed by Gus Van Sant and performed alongside Marianne Faithfull.
On January 19, 2022, Gaspard died following a ski accident. The star of Marvel’s upcoming Moon Knight series was flown by helicopter to a hospital in Grenoble following a collision on the slopes in the Savoie region of the French Alps on January 18, 2022. However, a day later he died after suffering a head injury.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway by mountain police. Mountain police also said that they have been attending five or six rescues a day in recent weeks as the snow in the region has hardened.
Gaspard is familiar on screens as the handsome face of the Chanel fragrance Bleu de Chanel. He is also known for playing a young Hannibal Lecter in the 2007 film, Hannibal Rising and played fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent in the 2014 film Saint Laurent. In 2016 he appeared in the Canadian and French film It’s Only The End Of The World. He will appear posthumously as Anton Mogart/Midnight Man in the anticipated Moon Knight series from Marvel coming soon to Disney+.
