Chris has been an anchor with E.W. Scripps’ national news team since February 2018. He also hosts the weekly show called The Race, a political show focused on people. He travels across the country to have real conversations with voters about what’s impacting their everyday lives. He’s also documented climate change’s impact on glaciers in Alaska and has looked at immigration issues from inside and outside of the United States.
Prior to becoming the national news anchor, he spent four years on WPTV’s top-rated morning show in South Florida.
Chris started his career in the “Birthplace of Basketball” in Springfield, Massachusetts, only about an hour from where he grew up in Connecticut. He was part of the news team that won the National Edward R. Murrow Award for Breaking News in 2011 for coverage of a massive tornado that carved through western Massachusetts. Chris also won an Associated Press award for investigating ambulance response times.
While in the “Birthplace of Basketball,” Chris covered several Basketball Hall of Fame enshrinements. He interviewed some of the biggest names in the history of hoops, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Scottie Pippen, and Charles Barkley.
