She was also a fill-in anchor for weekend, morning and evening newscasts and a fill-in reporter for radio newscasts. Additionally, she pitched, shot, edited and wrote local news and enterprise news, with accompanying web stories and social media posts.
Maxie landed her first news gig in Peoria, Illinois at WHOI -TV in January 2008. There, she served as a producer, fill-in anchor, reporter and host of the station’s webcast. In February 2012, she joined WWMT-TV in Kalamazoo, Michigan as the 10 p.m. producer.
